On some places on this site you and/or your organisation, or a representative of an organisation, may be asked to list your name and contact details, and other information about yourself, or the organisation you represent.
FundraisingBuddy provides the following details by way of explaining to individuals and organisations (users) how that information is managed.
Collection and Quality of Information
Information provided by users will be deemed to have been submitted voluntarily. FundraisingBuddy will provide the following details to users, from whom information is requested, upon receipt of a written request from the user:
- Our contact details.
- How the user giving the information can access, update and amend details held by us.
- Outcomes (eg. our inability to process a subscription request) if a user does not provide the details requested.
- The process to be followed by a user if they do not wish to receive direct marketing communication.
- The relevance of the information we collect, in respect to our products and services.
Case Study - Relevance of Information Collected
FundraisingBuddy conducted a market survey of its users in order to determine the types of software non-profits used to manage their fundraising activities.
The kinds of questions asked included:
- Do you use a software program to manage your fundraising activities?
- Do you have a staff member whose role it is, is to manage that software program?
- What problems do you encounter most frequently?
- What kind of software do you use at home to manage your personal finances?
The final question ought not have been included in the survey because it did not relate to the operations of the non-profit. This question related to the collection of personal information.
Use and Disclosure of Information
FundraisingBuddy will keep a record of the use and disclosure of personal information provided to use by users.
We will only use personal information (other than sensitive information) for our own direct marketing if:
- Users have not made a request to s to not receive direct marketing communication ... and
- Each direct marketing communication provides an option for the user to not receive any further direct marketing.
- We will not use or disclose personal information for a secondary purpose unless:
- We are reasonably of the view that the use or disclosure is reasonably necessary for use by an authorised Enforcement Agency ... or
- The use or disclosure is required or authorised by or under Law.
- Users have the right to opt out of receiving information from us and/or to cease corresponding with us.
- To put this into effect, email us and we will remove the user as soon as is practicable.
Users who sign up for our subscription service will receive regular communication from us via an e-newsletter. Terms and conditions of this service are explained in the section on Subscription. We will not share e-mail addresses with other organisations.
We will not rent or sell any personal information collected.
Any personal information provided by users will be used by us for the purpose of contacting the user who submitted the information / request.
Access, Correction and Openness of Information
FundraisingBuddy will provide access to any personal information we keep upon receipt of the users written consent. This information may be provided in most uses at no cost to the enquirer. We will need to validate the identity of users making an access request, in order to ensure that we do not provide user details to anyone who does not have the right to those details. We will endeavour to respond within 21 days.
The information we collect is deemed to be accurate at the time of collection. We have put in place reasonable steps to allow users to update this information.
When notified in writing that personal information is not up-to-date, complete, we will endeavour to make the necessary amendments as soon as is practicable.
Where access to personal information could reveal details in relation to commercially sensitive arrangements, we will not provide direct access but will give an explanation for the decision not to allow access to the information.
When asked by users in writing, we will inform users what sort of personal information it holds, for what purposes, how it collects it, hold, uses and discloses that information.

Security of Information
FundraisingBuddy will take all reasonable measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, disclosure or alteration.
We will safeguard personal information by:
- a password protected site and/or
- in a secure place in our office (eg. a filing cabinet)
- We have guidelines as to whom among its staff can access personal information and under what circumstances (eg. when the Director is absent).
- When e-mailing newsletters, measures will be taken to safeguard users e-mail addresses.
- We will destroy your information when it is no longer needed (eg. deleting or pulping paper records). We do not use any form of encryption to protect information you send from your computer to us over the internet. If you use our internet site, you should be aware of the associated risks.
Transborder flow of information
FundraisingBuddy will only transfer personal information to a recipient in a foreign country if:
- the user consents
- the transfer confers a benefit upon the user
We will not transfer personal information where the:
- recipient is in a jurisdiction which does not have adequate protection as provided or in The Privacy Code and the Privacy Act.
- the user has not consented to the transfer of the information.
Identifiers
FundraisingBuddy does not use identifiers as its own identifier (eg. Tax File Number) NB ABN is not an identifier.
Anonymity
Where user opts not to identify themselves when entering into a transaction with FundraisingBuddy, we will inform the user of any consequences (eg. an application for subscription may not be able to be effected).
Sensitive Information
FundraisingBuddy may collect sensitive information in the course of offering a service under its Individual Development Plan program.
We will only collect sensitive information when a user has consented to the collection of that information
Browser information
All visitors to FundraisingBuddy website are tracked only while they are at our website. The information we collect includes time spent and / or pages that users visited. We do not link this information back to individual users or organisations... we use this information to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website and, to monitor trends ....
