These
grants are illustrative of the kinds that you may be eligible to apply
for.
i-STAR.
Grants to a maximum of $25,000 are available to eligible organisations
to deliver innovative projects that promote IT & T skills, training
and role models in Queensland. Projects that may be funded include industry
scholarships, career evenings and short-term industry placement for IT & T
teachers.
E-Commerce
Demonstration Grants. Grants were made available to assist
Queensland firms wanting to address the challenges & opportunities
of the information age.
Information
Technology Online (ITOL). $3 million in funding was made
available through “Backing Australia’s Ability” program,
to support the trial & adoption of business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce
solutions.
Community
Skills Development Program in IT & T. The program is designed
to increase the level of IT & T skills within the wider Queensland
Community. Learning on the job & the development of resources such
as databases & websites were seen as priorities.
ACCE
Educator of the Year. An educational bursary and recognition
is awarded to the Australian Council for Computers in Education. This
is an annual award for school-based educators.
National
Innovation Awareness Strategy (NIAS) Grants provided funding
to support projects which raised awareness of the importance of science,
innovation, technology & entrepreneurship for Australia’ future.
Young people were encouraged to consider these fields as career paths.
