Alumni aim to:

• Conduct past member/student reunions.
• Invite past members/students to participate in the life of the college or association
  eg. Guest speaker during Careers Week.
• Organise scholarships & bursaries.
• Promote a sense of fellowship among its members.
• Facilitating processes and procedures which make it easy for alumni & friends to donate to the organization.
• Form alumni chapters in other parts of the state, country, or overseas.
• Provide a means for alumni to keep in touch with each other.

Secondary / High schools, colleges, universities and non-profit organizations are increasingly encouraging their graduates and former participants / members, to remain in contact.

A strong alumni association can be incredibly enriching and rewarding for both the institution and members alike. Typical alumni associations offer opportunities which can enhance social, sporting and business networks.

Alumni development has the potential to add great strength to an organization’s fundraising master plan. As a stand-alone association, it can build community spirit and enhance the circle of influence.
