Corporate Social Responsibility as Bristol-Myer Squibb is reflected in our company's pledge to society:

To the communities where we live and work, the countries where we do business and the world we serve .. We pledge conscientious citizenship, a helping hand for worthwhile causes and constructive action that supports a clean and healthy environment."

Among the many programs we support throughout the world, here is a snippet:

In Australia:
The Inspire Foundation & Youth Suicide.

Through its Reach Out program, The Inspire Foundation helps young people manage those times in their lives when they are most vulnerable. Reach Out provides an online venue where young people can get help in an unencumbered way. Developed in response and unacceptable high level of youth suicides & attempted suicides the program was initiated at the request of BMS staff.

Reach Out is a fine example of a true social partnership, one which is built around four key elements:

  • Commitment to a major 'headline' project that will spearhead company-wide activities through a significant partnership with a not-for-profit organisation working in an area that is compatible with the company's mission, values and business.
  • Support for staff community service with financial and administrative resources as well as recognition of the developmental learning's gained through this work.
  • A charitable giving program controlled and directed by our employees.
  • A wide range of corporate sponsorships, educational programs and community investments that make a difference in four key areas of our business: Heart Disease, Cancer, Infectious Disease and Mental Health

In Africa:
HIV/AIDS - Secure The Future program.

Through our pioneering $115 million Secure The Future program, BMS and the Bristol-Myer Squibb Foundation, are endeavouring to make a real difference in the lives and African women and children effected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. We are using innovative at the grassroots level that can be replicated by local groups in other countries.
